2011 ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP APPEAL
2010 Year In Review (Moving forward in 2011 with your support!)
In 2010, the Ridge and Valley Conservancy added the 40-acre Moravian Springs Preserve and the 131-acre Gnome Hollow Preserve to the list of lands it has permanently protected. With the support of our members we now have preserved over 3,000 acres in northwestern New Jersey!
We have exercised stewardship of these lands by building and maintaining trails, researching ways to maintain and improve the health of their forests, and planting native grasses to aid wildlife, protect water, and ease global climate change.
Finally, RVC is forging partnerships with active land trusts and other non-profit organizations to bring greater attention to the unique qualities of the Ridge and Valley region. We believe these partnerships will result in faster and more effective protection of the land, water, and wildlife that make this region so sensitive, beautiful, and important.
With your help, RVC can sustain its pace of responsible land protection and management. The present state of the economy provides a rare opportunity to acquire sensitive places at reasonable prices. Protecting land costs money. Your membership and donations help offset the many costs associated with the land-protection process and sustain our organization so that we can continue to find and protect important lands.
Since most of the work we do is done by our trustees and volunteers, more than 90% of the funds we raise go directly to land protection. Joining RVC or continuing to be a supporting member brings the satisfaction of knowing that you are making a difference to how your world will look for generations to come.
Thank you.
