Tucker Preserve (Limestone Forest)

Hardwick (Warren County)

271.8 Acres

Acquired:

Closed in June 1999. Conservation Easement. Partnering with NJDEP Green Acres Program and New Jersey Conservation Foundation

Features:
This acquisition includes a 2-mile loop of the Ridge and Valley Trail System. There are many species of ferns here along with the unusual walking fern.

There are long-tailed salamanders along with many other species of amphibians and reptiles.

This mature deciduous forest has several interesting limestone outcroppings and rock formations. There is also a hemlock forest and a sinkhole pond. Black bears, bobcats and coyote can be found here.
