The New Jersey Natural Lands Trust was created in 1968 by the
Legislature as an independent agency with the mission to preserve land
in its natural state for enjoyment by the public and to protect natural
diversity through the acquisition of open space.
The Trust acquires open space primarily by donations of land and
easements. The Trust manages its properties to conserve endangered
species habitat, rare natural features, and significant ecosystems. The
Trust invites passive use by the public for recreational or educational

The Foodshed Alliance is a grassroots, non-profit devoted to promoting fresh and healthy locally grown food and profitable, sustainable farming in northwestern NJ.
The Foodshed Alliance believe that the future of our health, our land, and our communities depends, to a great extent, on the existence of local farms--that farmers are the keystone to our connection with our food, the land, and our sense of place. It is this conviction that drives us to work with farmers, consumers, and agricultural professionals to foster a self-sustaining foodshed that sustains farmers, nourishes people, respects the land, and strengthens our communities.
